Road

I’m not going to go to the party.
I’m staying home tonight.
Hit the road in the morning
Into the rising light.
Going to the east coast
Go fishing by a lake.
This town is too small for me
And I’ve found out
What road to take.

My head is spinning
Like a roulette wheel.
No more lazy hands
No more ‘one more’ deals.
I could roll a seven any time.
I could roll a snake.
The Joker had a word in my ear and I found out
What road to take.

My life was killing me.
It was starting to freak me out.
So I’ve walked from the tables one last time
To see what it’s all about.
No more living on my nerves.
No more hands to fake.
Time to settle for a simple life as I’ve found out
What road to take.
