Cage

How do you sleep at night, knowing what you do?
I’ve seen it all of my life and I can see right through
Your desire for control
Of someone elses soul
I know what you’re doing.
Keep up appearances.
You’ve got me in a cage.

You profess to know about privacy.
That’s all very well but it doesn’t rring true to me.
I’m watched at every turn
Waiting for me to crash and burn
But you’re no sage.
Your actions don’t reflect your words.
But you’ve got me in a cage.

You say that you know me and where I’m at.
Were this the case you would never say a thing like that.
I wear it every day
There’s nothing for me to say
So turn the page.
Your work seems to be done here.
You’ve got me in a cage.
