They were teenage lovers
But their relationship was thwarted.
Their fathers hated each other
And prohibited their relationship.
The young couple were devastated
And missed each other badly.
What could they do?
They certainly couldn’t see each other.
They would have to wait 2 years for that.
They were stuck between a rock and a hard place.
One day the boy came up with a safe solution
That would get them through those next 2 years.
One day she received an email from him.
‘Why didn’t we think of this before?’ she thought.
It was a dead-end street but it would do for now.
It may well be a dead-end street
But that dead-end street is paved with gold and laughter
And they can walk up and down it whenever we want
As often as they want without harming a soul.
